Brian O'Gorman

CEO, Clúid Housing Association

Brian O’Gorman is Chief Executive of Clúid Housing. He has worked in non-profit housing organisations for 25 years across a range of organisations involved in housing advice, advocacy and homelessness. Brian was previously chair of the Irish Council for Social Housing, which is the representative organisation for Housing Associations in Ireland. He was also a member of the Dublin City Council Strategic Policy Committee for Housing. Brian is currently chair of the Housing Alliance, a group of larger non-profit housing agencies. Brian is a strong advocate of the view that different housing tenures - private rented, social rented and owner occupied - are interconnected and interdependent, and that real progress towards stability in housing depends upon the alignment of policy in all tenures. He also believes in the housing association model of delivery as the best means to deliver social and affordable housing and in adopting a more northern European approach in which housing associations develop residential housing for a wide range of income groups.
